How about just owning your own life?
Hello, everyone. Welcome to get out of your own way. This episode is called, I said tarot and they laughed but guess what? They are not laughing anymore. I listened to my intuition and became a tarot master and I use tarot cards in all aspects of my life, both personal and professional. I read for myself and I read for others. And the tarot is an integral part of my transformative life coaching program. I was drawn to the tarot cards for many, many years earlier in my life, but I was overwhelmed by the number of different decks and the plethora of interpretations.
I also worried about a lot of the preconceived notions people had about the tarot, you know that it was woo woo, scary, full of bad news. And ominous predictions. But every couple of years I'd get them out again and wish that I was reading for others. Fast forward a bit to later in my life, I had a tarot reading with an experienced reader and he told me I should be doing the same thing. His words were run, don't walk to learn the tarot. And when I put that out into the universe, the universe gifted me with a tarot academy from a world renowned tarot master in the UK.
It was all finally put into perspective for me and I learned what I'd been dreaming of for years. So I wanna jump right into this fascinating topic that combines ancient mysticism with modern self discovery techniques. The benefits of incorporating Tarot into life coaching. There's no fortune telling, no crystal balls, no doom and gloom or death and destruction. Now, if you're wondering how these seemingly mystical cards can be a valuable tool for life coaching, I'm here today to unravel that mystery for you and to explore the incredible ways that tarot can guide individuals on their path to personal growth, self awareness and transformation. But before we dive into the benefits of tarot in life coaching, it's really important to understand what the tarot is.
It is a deck of cards. The tarot cards are a deck of 78 cards, each with its own unique symbolism and meaning the deck is divided into two sections. The 1st 22 cards are known collectively as the major Arcana. These cards are the heavy hitters, the major life events and you might even be familiar with some of them like the fool, the magician, the death card, which by the way does not mean physical death. There's also the lovers and there's more. The second part of the deck is called the Minor Arcana and consists of 56 cards similar to a regular playing deck.
The cards are numbered ace through 10. There's picture cards or court cards that are called the page, the knight, the queen and the king. And then there are four suits, the pentacles, the cups, the wands and the swords. Now, these cards have been used for centuries as a tool for divination or predicting the future and also for self reflection. But they have a lot more to offer than meets the eye. The tarot deck itself tells a story and it's the journey of the fool. The fool is the first card in the deck.
He's on an adventure. He's moving through unknown territory. He's seeking a fresh start a new beginning. And he's also looking for insights into who he really is and who he's meant to be. So, the fool is you. The fool is me. The fool is whoever the reading is being done for. When I do a reading, I'm looking for the client's journey where they've been, where they are, where they're headed.
What do they need to know? what obstacles or barriers are getting in their way? Where are they stuck? How can they move forward on their personal journey to the truest most authentic version of themselves? Now, as a transformative life coach, there are many compelling reasons why I chose to add the tarot to my practice as a coaching tool. The first benefit is that tarot encourages deep self reflection. In a coaching session, drawing tarot cards can help clients tap into their subconscious bringing to light emotions, beliefs and desires that they may not have been consciously aware of. This new found awareness is a powerful catalyst for personal growth. The first session of my coaching program is an in depth tarot reading and it's the foundation or jumping off point for all of the work we'll do together.
Next, the tarot cards have a way of cutting through mental clutter. They provide insight into complex situations by offering a different perspective or a fresh new angle that you may not have considered. I can use the tarot to help my clients see their challenges from those new angles leading to more clarity and better decision making. Another valuable aspect of the tarot in life coaching is its ability to assist in intention setting. I don't use the term goal setting because goals are self-limiting and typically just don't work. I much prefer setting one's intentions and clients can use the cards to gain insights into their intentions. They can identify those obstacles and develop actionable strategies to achieve them. The tarot empowers you by placing the responsibility for your growth firmly in your hands.
You take control. Maybe for the first time ever, it teaches you to trust your intuition, make choices that align with your true self. This sense of ownership over your life journey can be incredibly empowering. So what if I told you that the tarot has a therapeutic quality? It can help individuals process and heal from past traumas and from emotional wounds. I'm able to guide you through this process using tarot as a tool for emotional healing and personal transformation.
Now, let's talk about intuition for a second. Incorporating tarot into life coaching can also help clients enhance their intuition. So often I hear someone say, I just don't trust my intuition, but as they become more attuned to the symbolism of the cards and their own inner wisdom, they'll find it easier to make intuitive decisions in various areas of life.
Now, you can absolutely hone your intuition. It can become sharper and you can become infinitely more skilled at using your own intuition to guide you with your life decisions. And lastly using tarot cards, strengthens my relationship with you in a reading. What transpires during a reading is extremely personal and often highly confidential. Our time together fosters trust and connection as we are both genuinely committed to your personal growth and well being.
So, incorporating tarot into life coaching is not about predicting the future or relying on a mystical tool. It's about using the symbolism and archetypes within the tarot as a means to gain insight, to foster self awareness and to support your personal growth. It's a versatile and powerful tool that can add a whole new dimension to your journey towards self discovery and empowerment, to finding the truest most authentic version of yourself. Well, our time together has come to an end as it always does. But the journey to get out of your own way is just beginning.
